INDIANAPOLIS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Bomb threat made this morning to several dozen Indiana schools appears to be unfounded, Indiana State Police said.
Earlier, the schools received an email threatening to use explosive devices that had been allegedly placed on numerous school campuses.
State police immediately investigated the threat and informed the Department of Education and local, county and federal law enforcement agencies of the situation.
ISP said no suspicious or explosive devices were discovered at the schools, however the origin of the threat remains under investigation.
As a precaution, school corporations were collaborating with their local law enforcement to decide about operations.
“The safety of our children will always be a top priority, the Indiana State Police will continue to offer any and all resources we have to schools to ensure safety for our students,” Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said.
