CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man was shot and killed overnight while driving in Jefferson Park on Chicago's Northwest Side.
Chicago Police found a car crashed into a tree near Central and Elston when they responded to a call shortly before 3 a.m.
A caller had said someone had been shot, and officers found the driver of a silver SUV with a gunshot wound to the head.
Paramedics pronounced the man believed to be about 20-years-old, dead at the scene.
No one is in custody as Area Five detectives investigate.
The most recent police statistics show murders are down in the 16th District so far this year, but shootings are up.
