SOUTH HOLLAND (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Holiday travel is well underway, with plenty of people hitting the road Wednesday.
At the Lincoln Oasis, along I-294, families were making pit stops. Some of the kids wore pajama pants and jackets, on the road with their parents to family gatherings.
One boy was anxious to tell WBBM about Thanksgiving.
“We’re hunting wild turkeys,” he said.
“It’s seeing family that we don’t get to see very often, and just having the kids out of school for a couple of days, and being all together,” one mom told WBBM.
According to the AAA, this Thanksgiving holiday travel period is expected to be record-breaking in terms of the numbers of travelers using all modes of transportation.
