
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - For a second consecutive day, a shooting incident resulted in the closure of Inbound Eisenhower Expressway.
Eastbound I-290 has fully reopened following roughly an hour long investigation by Illinois State Police. The full closure spanned from Central Avenue to Kostner Avenue.
The shutdown caused over an 8-mile traffic jam.
According to State police, shooting occurred around 5:15 a.m., near Cicero Avenue. A man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The ISP said the investigation remains ongoing.
Just yesterday afternoon, the Inbound Eisenhower was shut down for hours following an expressway shooting near Cicero Avenue that resulted in a man killed and woman injured.
