Rollover crash on the Eisenhower Expressway sends 3 to hospital: ISP

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Multiple people were hospitalized after three cars were involved in a rollover crash on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway near Kostner Avenue on Saturday night, according to the Illinois State Police.

ISP officials said it happened at about 11:40 p.m. A Toyota Corolla was changing lanes when it sideswiped a Toyota RAV-4, which caused the SUV to roll over.

Troopers said a Tesla, which was getting onto the expressway from the Kostner ramp, hit the RAV-4 as it was flipping.

Three people who were riding in the SUV were taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

State police ticketed the Corolla driver, 19-year-old Jimena Juarez, of Chicago, with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and not having insurance.
