CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An elderly woman was burglarized by two men posing as plumbers Friday in north suburban Northbrook.
The homeowner in the 2500 block of Joshua Lane opened her door at about 7 p.m. to two men who said they needed to check her plumbing, Northbrook police said. They pushed their way in and one man brought the woman down to the basement, while the other ransacked several rooms upstairs.
The suspects were described as two men standing around 6-foot-1 and weighing about 220 pounds, police said. They wore hats, black jackets, black pants and masks.
Northbrook police are currently investigating another similar incident, and advise residents not to open the door for unexpected strangers.
