(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Buying food along the Evanston lakefront won’t be as easy as it could have been this summer.
The Evanston City Council has voted against allowing food trucks along the lakefront.
Aldermen cited complaints that there’s already enough trash on the lakefront said food trucks would only add to the problem.
Another potential problem was noise from food truck generators, and not everyone supported adding a commercial element to the waterfront.
Evanston Now reports the council approved push-cart food vendors.
There’s only one licensed in the city, so far.
