EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A north suburban high school has reverted to requiring masks to be worn by students, teachers and other staff.
It’s “masks required” starting today at Evanston Township High School and until further notice, regardless of vaccination status. The school takes its lead from the Evanston Health and Human Services Department which follows CDC guidelines for determining COVID risk levels.
On Friday, the health department raised the risk level from medium to high, and that triggered a return to mandated masking from “masks highly recommended.” The Metrics consist of the total number of new cases per 100-thousand people, new hospital admissions over the past seven days, and the percentage of inpatient beds occupied by COVID patients.
