(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Visitors to the Field Museum can now travel back 5,000 years to see artifacts of Ancient Europe.

The traveling exhibit “First Kings of Europe” premiering here has been in the works for nearly a decade and represents a partnership of 26 different museums across the globe. The more than 700 pieces on display have never been shown together in North America.

Artifacts include some of the oldest gold treasures in the world.

“You get a sense of what the bling looked like,” curator of anthropology Bill Parkinson said. “You get a sense of how these people were wearing it. They were clearly demonstrating that they were not commoners.”

The exhibit runs through January of next year.
