(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - All lanes of the outbound Kennedy have reopened, nearly six hours after Illinois State Police shut down a portion of the expressway to investigate a fatal crash.

According to Illinois State Police (ISP), the two-car accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. in the outbound lanes at Cumberland Avenue, near O’Hare.

All mainline traffic was diverted to the I-190 ramp, resulting in massive delays.

At around 10 a.m., ISP allowed traffic to come through one lane. About 25 minutes later, all lanes were back open.

Police did not provide any other details regarding the crash. It remains under investigation.
