
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A fatal rollover crash on the Bishop Ford Freeway prompted a full closure on Chicago’s South Side Friday morning. An hour later, a pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 80 in Will County.
The crash on Interstate 94 happened near 115th Street, and investigators closed all southbound lanes shortly after 6 a.m.
The driver of an SUV reportedly slammed into a median and was ejected from the vehicle, according to State Police. The driver died at the scene.
Later that morning, a pedestrian was killed on I-80 in Will County.
The person, only identified as a female, was standing outside her vehicle just after 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 near Shorewood when a vehicle ran into her, killing her, Illinois State Police said.
