CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Fire extinguishers dot the lakefront at Montrose Harbor, where fisherman are fired up to catch salmon.
“This is powerline fishing. We have about 30 hooks,” Edward Becker explained Friday.
“We shoot the weight with a rubber band — all the way to about, I’d say, 200 yards away.”
He is able to do that with the power of a fire extinguisher.
Becker said he’s out every other day, trying his luck. But it’s being outside he likes.
“If there’s a fish, that’s a bonus. I don’t eat that much fish, anyway,” he said, laughing. “I like steak.”
