Flash mob gathers on Near South Side, leading to chaotic scene: Report

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - An 18-year-old woman was injured Tuesday night when hundreds of people gathered at a Near South Side intersection.

It happened at 31st and Michigan Avenue. Hundreds of people seemed to materialize near a gas station at the intersection, a few blocks from police headquarters.

Many were shooting video and sharing it on social media. Some were seen jumping on cars and blocking the intersection, drawing a large police presence.

ABC-7 reported the teen who was injured was hit by a car that left the scene. She was in fair condition, according to police.
