Former Chicago Public Schools CEO Janice Jackson says she has absolutely no interest in running for mayor.
That question came up after former Chicago Schools CEO and U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan decided to take a pass on running for mayor.
Jackson, who now heads an education nonprofit, told The Sun Times, "I'm an educator, I understand politics. I love politics. I want to support the mayor who's currently leading this city and anybody who's in that position."
She also said, "Absolutely not. I do not want to be mayor of Chicago. You could play that a million times. I have no interest in that job right now."
Janice Jackson is currently the CEO of Hope Chicago, a nonprofit focused on funding post secondary education for inner city students.
