Retired Indiana teacher does not have to do jail time for hitting student

ELKHART, IND. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Retired High school sociology teacher Michael Holinski will not be doing jail time for hitting a student at Jimtown High School in Elkhart since he cut a plea deal.

He was charged three months ago after confronting a student in a hallway about wearing a hoodie and grabbing the 15-year-old and slapping him across the face, according to the Associated Press. The incident was caught on school surveillance camera. Hosinski pleaded guilty to Misdemeanor Battery.

He will not be doing any jail time, but he will be placed on a year of probation and must undergo anger evaluation.
