Former President Obama shares his thoughts on Project 2025

Former President Barack Obama recently shared his thoughts on the conservative agenda from the Heritage Foundation known as Project 2025, and he sounded an ominous warning by saying it would take away the freedoms of Americans.

Obama spoke his mind on the “I’ve Had It” podcast.

“We’ve had it with the ideas that are in this — for those who aren’t familiar with it, but you guys have been educating them — this is an agenda that’s been put together that would soup-to-nuts, take away rights and freedoms that so many of us take for granted, that would dismantle vital programs and services like the Department of Education,” Obama said of Project 2025 after being asked his feelings on it.

The former president went on to say that he didn’t think Project 2025 would create “the kind of America” they would “want to live in.”

Former President Donald Trump has attempted to distance himself and his campaign from the 900-page conservative blueprint for the next Republican administration.

Even though former Trump administration officials were involved in the creation of the plan, Trump himself has criticized it for going “too far” on several topics, including abortion.

Still, the Harris campaign has continued to hammer Trump over Project 2025, saying that it gives a glimpse of what a second Trump administration would be like.

During his podcast appearance, which went live on Thursday, Obama warned that Project 2025 could take away the rights and freedoms of Americans.

“If you are a patriot and you believe in freedom, well, part of the freedom that we have fought and died for is the freedom to make sure that everybody’s treated equally, that women have control over their own bodies, that everybody has the opportunity to get a job and work hard and make something of themselves,” Obama said.

“And that when they’re down on their luck, or something happens, we as a community come together and pick them up. And that’s not what Project 2025 stands for, and we sure can’t have it in the White House.”
