(WBBM Newsradio) -- Suburban foster children and parents will soon have a special boutique in downtown Elgin, which will help them with the emotional and financial challenges they face.

It's run by a group called The Ruth Project.

Executive director Tammy McMahan hopes the boutique will help increase and retain the number of foster parents in the suburbs.

The Elgin boutique will be fully operational by early summer, will help foster families with free clothing and other supplies. The boutique will also set aside space for support programs and gatherings, McMahan said.

She has been a foster mom to dozens of children, including two-year-old triplets she's caring for currently.
