(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The University of Illinois-Chicago is celebrating the arrival of four new falcons.
Peregrine falcons have perched atop UIC for decades, but this spring parents Mouse and Loop nested at University Hall and hatched four chicks.
About a month ago, the four eggs hatched during commencement weekend.
Ornithologists of the Chicago Field Museum banded them to track the new brood.

The fledglings are believed to be two males and two females.
You can watch the feathered fowl on the University of Illinois-Chicago's Falcon Cam live stream.
This family of six are not the only falcons living on the campus. A pair and their two chicks live near the medical buildings on the west side of campus.
Peregrine falcons were once endangered, but their population has improved since increased awareness and a reduction in the use of harmful pesticides.
In Chicago it is estimated that there are about 15 pairs of peregrine falcons, according to UIC.
