CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Dom’s Kitchen & Market and Foxtrot, a luxury grocery chain with a prominent presence in Chicago, has abruptly closed.
Effective immediately, the 33 Foxtrot and 2 Dom’s stores across Chicago, Texas, and the Washington D.C. area will cease operations.
Many customers learned of the news from signs posted at a few Foxtrot locations.
In a letter posted on their website, the parent company Outfox Hospitality said the decision was difficult but necessary.
“We explored many avenues to continue the business but found no viable option despite good faith and exhaustive efforts,” the company wrote.
The two brands, Foxtrot as a high-end convenience store and Dom’s as a luxurious grocery store, both originated in Chicago and merged less than six months ago.

“This decision has not been made lightly, and we understand the impact it will have on you, our loyal customers, as well as our dedicated team members.,” the letter added.
“We understand that this news may come as a shock, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. We genuinely appreciate your understanding during this challenging time.”
Starting today, April 23, Outfox Hospitality said all deliveries, store operations, store credits, and customer-facing operations will end.
