(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Twenty people are sick from E-coli across six states causing a recall on falafel.
The onset dates of illness were reported between July 24th and September 19th with five hospitalizations and no deaths.
20 reported cases in Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin have caused a voluntary recall by the manufacturer of two varieties of Earth Grown brand Frozen Falafel produced after June 24,2021. The varieties subject to the recall are Vegan, Traditional along with Garlic and Herb.
Distributed exclusively in ALDI stores, the brand of frozen falafel is sold in at least three dozen states including Illinois.
Full refunds will be offered upon returning to the store of purchase.
