CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are trying to identify two men who robbed a Walgreens store in the Gold Coast neighborhood on Sunday night.
It happened at about 9:40 p.m. at the store on the 900 block of North State Street.
One of the men reportedly put a gun to the back of an employee and told him to open a door to a back room. There, another employee was counting money.
Both employees said they were ordered to lie face-down on the floor. They were bound with packing tape.
A safe was ordered opened, they said. Money was loaded into a bag. It was about $10,000, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
One was reported to have been calm, saying “We just came for the money.” The other was described as “much more hostile.”
The men, who wore face coverings, left the employees uninjured.
Police would be checking surveillance video from the area attempting to identify the men.
