CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A person was shot while trying to prevent a robbery outside of a Chicago café early this morning.
Chicago Police said two women were standing outside Estelle’s Cafe & Lounge in the Wicker Park neighborhood on North Avenue, when they were approached by a vehicle.
Two men jumped out, armed with guns, and attempted to rob the women. A man tried to help. He was shot in the torso and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.
The suspects fled the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
