(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Democratic Congressman from Illinois says lawmakers' failure to approve a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol is potentially dangerous.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Schaumburg said it's shameful that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republicans have blocked formation of a bipartisan commission to look into what led to the Capitol siege.
Opponents are not only aiding and abetting former President Donald Trump's efforts to cover up what happed that day, he said.
"They're potentially inviting another attack," Krishamoorthi added.
He's calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to ensue that some kind of Congressional investigation takes place.
Krisnamoorthi is the guest on "At Issue," which airs 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
