(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A grand jury has indicted the village president of Glendale Heights.

Sixty-six-year-old Chodri Khokhar is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report on two separate occasions earlier this year.

Investigators say on April 26 and again on May 12 Khokhar claimed in a police report he was the victim of an assault.

Khokhar turned himself in to authorities on Thursday and was processed and subsequently released, officials said. He is due back in court next month.

Further details were not provided about the case.

"I thank the Grand Jury for their time and dedication to the rule of law,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said. “I also thank the Glendale Heights Police Department for their thorough investigation into this matter as well as Assistant State’s Attorney Lynn Cavallo for her efforts.”
