“You don’t have to have a Master’s degree to do this. You don’t have to know the Theory of Relativity to be in physics, whoever said that.  You don’t have to know that to shovel snow. All you got to do is love Chicago and love your neighbors and, of course, love, you got to show up!” Founder Jahmal Cole said.

Cole said his group will try to pair volunteers with seniors who live in their community.

“We’re evolving as a social service company so, what we’re doing is connecting volunteers in Jefferson Park to seniors in Jefferson Park. We’re connecting volunteers in Roseland to seniors that need help in shoveling in Roseland,” he said.

To volunteer to shovel or, if you’re over the age of 60 and will need shoveling help or know of someone who will, visit formyblock.org.
