CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police found themselves responding to a very unusual situation in which a gunshot victim started shooting at officers overnight.
Police said the incident began just before midnight when officers responded to a call of “shots fired” in the 400 block of East 71st Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Officers found a 20-year old man shot in the leg, but he got up and ran from them and just before running into an apartment building, he allegedly fired one shot in the direction of the officers. They did not fire back. He was arrested in the bedroom of an apartment and taken to a hospital in good condition.
Four handguns were found at the scene, according to police.
