Harris campaign said it raised $310 million in July — more than double the $139 million Trump has raised

Momentum in the presidential race may be shifting to the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, as evidenced by Donald Trump's recent fundraising announcement.

The Trump campaign said that "authorized committees raised $138.7 million in the month of July providing a cash on hand total of $327 million."

But the campaign's haul for the entire month of July falls short of the money raised by Kamala Harris during a partial month.

The Harris camp reported that it raised $310 million last month, with a cash on hand total of $377 million. That includes $200 million in new money since she became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after President Joe Biden decided not to run for re-election.

Harris could also see a bump in donations now that she has officially secured the Democratic nomination for president.

Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison announced the news on Friday – three days before the online voting process is set to end. It comes less than two weeks after Biden dropped out of the race, clearing the way for Harris to throw her hat in the ring.

Democrats want to formally nominate Harris ahead of the Democratic National Convention in order to meet an August 7th deadline to include her on the Ohio ballot.

She's also expected to announce her running mate early next week, which could result in another fundraising jolt.
