GLENVIEW, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Glenbrook South High School in Glenview is expanding its health care services.

The new Glenbrook School Health Center will add onto existing health services the school nurse already offers for students who might need more complex care.

It'll be staffed by Advocate Health and will be open during school days from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students can schedule appointments before, during and after school at no cost.

Glenbrook South officials said the health center was made possibly partly by $250,000 in federal funding, which was secured by Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.

“The Glenbrook School Health Center will provide students and staff with top-of-the-line medical care at no cost," she said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. "All people, especially our children, deserve access to affordable, quality, and accessible health care."
