
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A horse is expected to be okay after it fell out of a trailer on a Chicago area expressway and caused a traffic snarl near Minooka.
Illinois state troopers were called to eastbound Interstate 80 at Shepley Road around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a horse in the roadway.
The driver reportedly told police the horse kicked open the trailer door and fell onto the roadway. A Good Samaritan held the animal until the owner could get it back into the trailer.
A trooper on the scene told dispatchers the horse appeared to have minor injuries but animal seemed all right.
The roadway reopened around 4:30 p.m.
