(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A couple from Waukegan who had to postpone their wedding plans because of a medical emergency were able to tie the knot with the help of staff members at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

When Jatiana Silencieux developed life-threatening complications during her pregnancy, doctors had to perform an emergency C-section to save her and her baby.

The procedure meant the new mom and her fiance couldn't go to the Skokie Courthouse last month to get married, as they planned.

She says that's why doctors and nurses at Lutheran General arranged for the couple to get married at the hospital, on March 25.

The ceremony included wedding cake, sparking wine, decorations and a special guest.

The couple's newborn son, Grayson, was brought to the ceremony in an incubator.

Doctors say both Grayson and his mom are doing well.
