CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An employee of a charter school in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood hopes surveillance video will help police find the three men who tried to steal his car Wednesday morning.

Gary works at the Polaris Charter Academy at Sawyer Avenue and Ohio Street in Humboldt Park.

He spoke to CBS 2, but did not want to share his last name. Gary said he was getting out of his car to walk into work around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when he was approached by three men who asked him for his car keys.

Gary said the men didn't display a weapon, but one of the men punched him in the head. He would like to see beefed up security at the school and hopes the attempted carjacking was caught on surveillance video.

“The shock has sort of dissipated. I’m in the anger stage," Gary told CBS 2.
