(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Organizations in DuPage County are planning a summer artwork display that will evoke the colossal heads displayed in ancient Mexico.

“Olmec Trails: Culture and Legacy” will feature more than 30 hand-painted, large-scale versions of iconic Mesoamerican sculptures.
The works will be displayed outdoors at a variety of locations across the western suburbs.

The original stone heads were crafted by the Olmecs between 1400 BCE to 400 BCE. The sculptures coming to DuPage County will be painted by contemporary artists in North America.
