(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A bill passed the Illinois General Assembly that would allow businesses and public institutions to provide multi-occupant all-gender bathrooms if they choose to do so.

This didn’t sit well with Republican State Senator Neil Anderson who used for an example, his ten- year- old daughter.

“I’m telling you right now, if a guy walks in there, I’m going to beat the living p*** out of him.”

Democrat Mike Simmons responded.

“I take personal offense to anybody here who would say that if we pass a piece of legislation that you would go out and beat somebody up.”

The sponsor, Democrat Celina Villanueva, said nobody is forced to use a gender neutral bathroom.

She said it’s meant to be inclusive.
