(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An Illinois man and his children are celebrating a lottery win of $1 million after they picked numbers that honored a deceased member of their family.
The winning ticket was purchased this past Monday at a gas station in Wadsworth, where a Chicago-area man split the purchase of the Lotto ticket with his adult children.
Since the death of his wife, the man and his kids have included chosen numbers related to her — numbers that hold significant meaning to all of them.
The winning numbers: 2, 8, 10, 18, 22 and 28.
The family has requested to remain anonymous, but one family member told the Illinois Lottery that her father is convinced that the family will win one of those huge Mega Million or Powerball jackpots next.
