Illinois State trooper struck on I-57: ISP

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Illinois State Police (ISP) are continuing to investigate a late morning crash that involved a State trooper.

According to ISP, the accident occurred in the inbound lanes of I-57 near 107th Street shortly after 10:20 a.m.

The male trooper was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, according to Chicago fire department spokesman Larry Merritt.

As a result of the investigation and cleanup, all inbound lanes were shut down at 111th Street for more than an hour. Traffic backed up for several miles.
