Inbound Metra UP North running again following mechanical failures

WINNETKA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Service has been restored on the inbound Metra Union Pacific North Line after mechanical problems resulted in an hourlong shutdown.

The issue first arose at about 7:50 a.m., according to a tweet from Metra.

The inbound trains were stopped near the Indian Hill station in Winnetka because of mechanical failures.

Shortly before 9 a.m., trains began moving again. But, Metra said extensive delays will exist for quite awhile.
