(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A new report from a local anti-hate group details a rise in antisemitism throughout Chicago since October.

Jewish community members and leaders on Wednesday said they're looking to non-Jews to help fight antisemitism in Chicago, which, according to a new report from the Anti-Defamation League Midwest, is at an all-time high.

"I'm confident that the total number of antisemitic incidents we tracked in Chicago last year will easily exceed the 75 antisemitic incidents we tracked in 2021 and 2022 combined,” said David Goldenberg, ADL Midwest Regional Director.

Sarah van Loon with the American Jewish Committee called on elected officials, school administrators, the media and businesses to help.

"Everyone is responsible for this fight. And it's particularly important for the non-Jewish community to speak up and loudly push back against this form of hate wherever and whenever they may see it."
