(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A federal civil right lawsuit has been filed over a police raid two years ago on a residence in Joliet.

Officers had an arrest warrant for a man wanted for questioning about a shooting and, according to the lawsuit, they had the wrong address.

Adela Carrasco was with her grandchildren when they told her to open up or they’d break down the door.

"They proceeded to push me out the way and and then they came in like a snake form and pointed rifles at that precise moment. My fear was that they were going to shoot them and kill them and these are babies."

Attorney Zach Hofeld is representing the family.

'It was willful, wanton recklessness. gratuitously pointing firearms at innocent citizens and children," he said.

The man the police wanted was found next door. Hofeld said the family members were held for about 6 hours. The lawsuit names 22 defendants-Joliet officers, Will County officers and U.S. Marshalls.
