(GREENFIELD, WI) WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A popular custard shop in Greenfield, Wisconsin, just outside Milwaukee, finds itself at the center of controversy.

“I don’t mix politics with custard, I just don’t do it,” a customer said.

An odd statement, you may be thinking.

Kopp’s Frozen Custard decided to make a flavor-of-the-day for National Pro-Life Cupcake Day.
And, in a state where abortion access is a major point of contention, people responded.

“I understand that people are trying to make sure that everybody is included in this world,” one customer told Milwaukee’s CBS-58.

“Why does politics have to enter everything that we do,” another customer said.

Kopp’s Frozen Custard pulled the special from its website after thousands reacted on social media, both pro and con.

The shop apologized, saying it was an “honest mistake.”

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin weighed in, too.
President Tanya Atkinson said this “underscores the need to take politics out of sexual and reproductive health.”
