(670 The Score) -- The Blackhawks are not re-signing the last remaining player from their three-time championship core.
Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews will not be retained by the team this offseason, general manager Kyle Davidson told reporters on Thursday morning.
Toews, 34, has been with the Blackhawks for the last 15 seasons and served as the team's captain and leader. He has played in 52 games this season but was once again limited due to symptoms of Long COVID and Chronic Immune Response Syndrome.
Toews is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Toews has played 1,066 regular-season games for the Blackhawks, scoring 371 goals and 511 assists. The No. 3 overall pick to Chicago in the 2006 NHL Draft, Toews was a fixture on his Blackhawks teams and proved to be the last player remaining from the three Stanley Cup championships in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
Toews will play his final game with the Blackhawks on Thursday night when they host the Flyers at the United Center.
