CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Jury selection begins Monday for the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.
The 18-year-old Illinois resident is accused of killing two people and wounding a third during a protest over police brutality in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.
Prosecutors said Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, faces multiple charges including two homicide counts.
Legal experts said the case may turn on how Rittenhouse's self-defense claim stacks up against prosecutors' argument that he acted recklessly by being on the streets with a rifle.
The trial is expected to last two or three weeks.
