CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Grab your skates: Outdoor ice rinks are now open across Chicago.

Outdoor ice rinks are now open in the Hyde Park, Rogers Park and Garfield Ridge Community Areas, though the outdoor rinks at Mount Greenwood and McKinley Park will open at a later date. The skating ribbon at Maggie Daley Park opened earlier this month.

Each outdoor ice rink site is open Wednesday through Sunday, except for Midway Plaisance Park Ice Rink, which is open seven days a week.

The outdoor rinks will stay open through Feb. 17, 2025. Pre-registration is required for all programs, including open skate sessions.

A variety of events and competitions will take place at the rinks, including a Skate with Santa.

In addition to the outdoor locations, two indoor facilities feature ice-skating year-round.
