CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man is recovering this morning after being attacked by another driver in Lakeview Wednesday night.

It’s unclear what sparked it, but Chicago police said a 30-year-old driver told them he got into an argument with a man and a woman in another car at about  7:15 p.m.

Police said the other driver punched the man multiple times near Sheridan and Pine Grove, left and came back a minute later with a bat.

The victim said the driver hit him with it while the woman kicked him and pepper sprayed him before leaving in a silver SUV.

The victim’s car has a smashed windshield. He was treated and released from the hospital.

No one is in custody.
