Lisle man stored child pornography on hard drives: Police

LISLE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Lisle man faces charges after detectives discovered child pornographic images and videos on personal hard drives.

Garrett Kappel, 21, has been charged with five counts of child pornography, police said.

Lisle Police were tipped to an IP address that was possibly consuming child pornography. An investigation began which led detectives to Kappel’s home in the 500 block of Hitchcock Avenue.

Detectives noted that they images and videos of child pornography on a phone and computer hard drive.

“We aggressively pursue anyone involved in child pornography,” said Lisle Police Chief Kevin Licko. “I want to acknowledge our detectives for once again conducting a thorough investigation to build a strong case against Mr. Kappel.”

Kappel was transferred to the DuPage County Jail while he awaits a detention hearing.
