(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A Plainfield police officer is being credited with arresting a suspect who may be behind a string of bank robberies in the southwest suburbs.
Three banks were robbed between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4 in the Plainfield and Joliet area, "each with a similar modus operandi and offender description," Plainfield police said.
Plainfield Police Officer Justin Barma noticed a similar-looking individual Saturday afternoon at PNC Bank, 13470 South Route 59 and took him into custody, police said.
Charged with robbery was 30-year-old Brian M. Fletcher of Lockport, who was transported to Will County Jail. Details were not immediately available.
