CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A large farmers market on the northwest side is growing.

The Logan Square Farmers Market has become increasingly popular.

"It's largely around accommodating a new a new surge of vendors that has been well documented in the press, so hopefully the final expansion is enough to accommodate all the potential users and market patrons and the vendors," said Andrew Schneider, president of Logan Square Preservation.

The market will now run along West Logan Boulevard from Milwaukee to Richmond every Sunday through season's end on October 29.

But Schneider said the goal is to eventually leave the streets and set up shop in a re-constructed Logan Square itself.

"The plan had always been that when the when that project is done the market was going to move shift a couple of blocks left into the new space that's more purpose built for this kind of gathering. It's outgrown this space faster than we were able to get the city and the contractors to move on the redesign.
