CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Slowly but surely, a Lurie Children’s Hospital online function is coming back.
Lurie Children’s has begun the process of reactivating MyChart, the online system that allows patients and their guardians to communicate with doctors. This process will take place over the coming days, a spokesperson said in the latest update.
Currently, key MyChart functions that are coming online to support patient-families include online scheduling, e-check in, provider messaging, and medication refill requests and bill pay is expected to be available in the coming days as well.
Additionally, telemedicine appointments will also be available via MyChart. Patient-families should refer to their e-mail and/or text message reminders and log into their MyChart account for information about their upcoming telemedicine appointment.
The hospital said that users may experience service disruptions while using the MyChart website or app because of the volume of people logging in.
MyChart was not updated during the system downtime, but the hospital is "actively working to update the information."
