(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Here are some of the events and activities happening across the Chicago area this weekend:

—Enjoy traditional choirs and contemporary urban gospel music in the city where the genre was born. The Chicago Gospel Music Festival showcases the top gospel artists in the country at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.

—Raise a stein for the traditional German celebration of the season. The 21st annual MaiFest Chicago is hosted in Lincoln Square and offers plenty of German food, traditional keg tapping and the crowning of the Maifest queen.

—It’s your last chance to see the new smash-hit Broadway musical that follows The Temptations' journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations ends its tour at the Cadillac Palace Theatre on Sunday.

—Lace up your running shoes and head to the Lincoln Park Zoo. The annual Run for the Zoo is back and in-person. Featuring a 5k and 10k course, the longtime tradition directly supports animal care and wildlife conservation.

—The annual Buffalo Grove Pride Parade is back. The celebration kicks off Sunday at 11 a.m. followed by the Buffalo Grove Park District’s Pride Picnic.

—Sports fans can step back in time and catch an old-fashioned baseball game at Elmhurst University Saturday afternoon. The vintage baseball game will be played using the wildly different rules of 1858.

—Grab a lawn chair and bring a blanket for an evening concert with Mariachi Monumental De Mexico. The Wheeling Park District continues its free Sounds of Summer concert series Sunday evening at the Heritage Park Performance Pavilion.

—Make a splash as the largest waterpark in Illinois opens this weekend. Just 45 minutes west of Chicago, Raging Waves in Yorkville includes 32 water slides, a wave pool and lazy river.
