CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two older people were found dead in a North Side apartment Sunday night and Chicago police detectives are trying to figure out how that happened.

Chicago police said the dead included a 79-year old man and a 61-year old woman. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identifies them as Ocie Banks and Sheila Banks.

The woman had been shot in the side of the head. The man had suffered some kind of trauma to his face. The pair were found in a bedroom of a third-floor apartment in the 1000 block of West Montrose.

Police had been called to the building for a well-being check around 8:30 Sunday night. Detectives continue to try to determine what took place and who may be responsible. No one is in custody.
