LAS VEGAS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago man is behind bars in connection to a deadly shooting after being caught in Las Vegas. Several people were shot and one died at the former Indian Lakes Country Club in Bloomingdale in February 2021.

Police found several guns in the snow and say Travis Peery, 24 of Chicago's Far South Side was seen on video holding one of the guns, and his DNA was also on the weapon.

DuPage County prosecutors and Bloomingdale Police said Peery was found in Las Vegas and extradited back to Illinois a month ago.

“It is indeed a tragedy anytime someone loses their life to gun violence,” Bloomingdale Director of Police Frank Giammarese said. “Incidents such as this impact the entire community and must be seen through to their conclusion.

He is charged with Unlawful Use or Possession of Weapons by a Convicted Felon. An investigation into the shooting continues.
